Pre-Practice Mechanics Check

5-point fundamentals checklist to verify before hitting balls. Catching setup errors early prevents ingraining bad habits.

Protocol

  1. Check grip: neutral position, pressure 4/10, connection between hands.
  2. Check alignment: place alignment stick on ground, verify feet/hips/shoulders parallel to target.
  3. Check posture: bend from hips, slight knee flex, arms hanging naturally.
  4. Check ball position: verify position relative to stance for intended club.
  5. Check tempo: make 3 slow-motion swings, feel 3:1 backswing-to-downswing ratio.
